An exploration
of ideas and issues about art, identity, and place and how these concepts
have been studied, developed, and transformed by contemporary artists.
Through the artwork and words of twenty-first-century artists, youll
learn to weave ideas and issues about place and identity into your own
art teaching. Art:21Art in the Twenty-First Century, which
aired on PBS in Fall 2001, is a companion resource for the course. In
addition, readings, interactive discussions, and an online artist index
are available for you to conduct your own inquiry.
